1. Step 1
Release any blockages you may have. Emotions like anxiety , fear and insecurity are blocks that will prevent you from opening your third eye.
2. Step 2
Visualize your chakras. The chakras are energy centers, seven spinning wheels, in the energy field surrounding the body. When you can visualize and clear your chakras it becomes easier to open your third eye. Read "Chakra Clearing" by Doreen Virtue to learn more (see Resources below).
3. Step 3
Begin to meditate. Meditation helps to focus and relax the mind. You will need to clear your mind of chatter in order to receive clear impressions from the third eye.
4. Step 1
Begin each exercise by relaxing your breathing. Breathe in slowly through your nose and exhale through your mouth until you reach an alpha state. Record the results of the exercises in a journal to track your progress. Review the results to decipher the meaning behind what you see.
5. Step 2
Close your eyes. Using your index finger, touch the spot just above the area between your physical eyes. This is the location of your third eye. Push your finger up gently, as if prying the eyelid open.
6. Step 3
Practice seeing colors. Focus on the screen behind your closed eyes. Your third eye will begin to open and you will see a color. When you do, stop to rest.
7. Step 4
Practice seeing shapes. Watch the screen behind your closed eyes. After a while, you will begin to see colors, and then shapes. When you see a shape, stop.
8. Step 5
Watch your screen for images. When an image appears, imagine that you are moving closer to examine it. Stop and record everything you noticed about the image, including color and movement.
9. Step 6
Close your eyes and mentally ask your spirit guides for any messages they may have for you. Watch for any images that may appear. Then stop to figure out the message behind what you have seen.
10. Step 7
Use your third eye to try remote viewing. Close your eyes, slow your breathing and let your mind wander into outer space. You may see elements of the Solar system. Take notes.
